Some Common Causes of Anxiety

●     Societal expectations: Feeling pressure to meet societal standards can be incredibly challenging, especially when those standards feel impossible to achieve or don't align with who you are.

●     Past or present abuse: including physical, emotional, sexual, mental or neglect. Sometimes abuse its normalized because of the culture or generational patterns so you may not even be aware of this.

● Transgenerational Trauma: When the experiences of parents affect their children and sometimes even the grandchildren and goes down to other generations until someone stops it by doing their personal work and thus breaking the cycle.

●     Acculturation: It is a process of social, psychological and cultural change while adapting to the prevailing culture. : This can happen when you are from a different culture or you have close roots from another culture. 

●   Identity: When you are not sure of your identity because you have been feeling pulled in different directions for different reasons and you haven’t had the opportunity to connect to yourself.

●     Transitions in life, crises and relationships can also pull triggers that bring us back to past experiences that were not processed or healed.

●     Religion: When being raised in a particular religion and come to a point where you are not aligning with it.
